Having a strong foundation in type design is an incredibly valuable skill as a designer. It allows you to go beyond simply placing text in a composition and instead focus on understanding and addressing the unique needs of typography. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to design typefaces inspired by vastly different concepts, each offering its own challenges and rewards.
For instance, one typeface I created was rooted in mathematical shapes, requiring strict adherence to geometric rules and precision. In contrast, another design drew inspiration from the skeletons of deep-sea creatures, where I explored organic, flowing forms that evoked a sense of mystery and fluidity.
